The Southeast Missourian is a daily newspaper in Cape Girardeau, Mo., covering local news, people, sports, business, jobs, and community events. The newspaper is published six days a week: Monday through Friday and on Sunday. The Southeast Missourian began publication on October 3, 1904 as The Daily Republican. The newspaper changed its name to the Southeast Missourian in 1918. It is the flagship publication of Rust Communications. Jon K. Rust is the publisher. Lucas Presson is assistant publisher.
